13 Nights / 14 Days Destination : Delhi - Mandawa - Bikaner - Jaisalmer - Jodhpur - Ranakpur - Udaipur Jaipur - Amber Fort - Ranthambore - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra - Delhi ![]() Day 01 Arrive Delhi Arrive Delhi International Air Port and welcome by presentable representative of Recreation Travels will greet each member with marigold garments and cheerful smile, Transfer to Hotel. Day 02 New Delhi Sightseeing Delhi stands as the capital of Modern India. Here you can see the mingling of the Old and New India, the ancient and the modern. Delhi is made up of seven ancient cities, spanning the period from the 11th to 20th centuries. Delhi has seen the rise and fall of many emperors, which have left behind a plethora of monuments that commemorate the grandeur and glory of bygone ages. Very few cities in the world can express such a profusion of architectural styles. Later visit to New Delhi - was designed and built by the British in the 1920's-it's a city of wide Boulevards impressive Government buildings, green parks and gardens. In 1911 King George V announced the transfer of the capital from Calcutta to Delhi. The King's architects, Lateens and Baker, set in motion the Design and construction of Delhi's eight city - New Delhi. Lateens designed an "Imperial City" having palatial-sized buildings set amid broad tree-lined avenues punctuated by Mughal style gardens, complete with fountains and shallow pools. It took 20 years to Complete this immense undertaking only to have the British pack up and Relinquish the subcontinent in 1947. Visit two monuments from Delhi's past - Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar, Louts Temple, Drive pass through the Raisina Hill, past the imposing India Gate, President House and Parliament House. Evening return to the Red Fort to watch the "Son et Lumire" show which is an Interplay of colorful lights and sound tracing the history of monument till date. (BD) Day 03 Old Delhi Sightseeing / Mandawa (240 kms) Today visit Old Delhi - was an ancient walled city. Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan in 1650 Switched the Mughal capital from Agra to Delhi. Shah Jehan possessing an Exquisite talent, especially in architecture, created the seventh city and in the Process brought about Delhi's glorious renaissance. Here you will view Red Fort, the most Opulent Fort and Palace of the Mughal Empire. The fort is Shah Jehan's symbol of power and elegance, built behind red sandstone walls. Its main gate (Lahore Gate) faces Chandni Chowk, the perpetually congested avenue-heading west From the Red Fort, is filled with twisting lanes, small streets and crowded Bazaars. If you peer through a portico you may see a man getting shaved, silver Being weighed, or any other conceivable form of intense commerce. Also visit Raj Ghat, the memorial site of the Mahatma Gandhi; Jama Masjid, the Largest mosque in India; and Chandni Chowk, the bustling and colorful market of the old city. Chandni Chowk was the commercial center of Delhi in the old time and you will see it come alive in the morning as the trading day starts. Later drive to Mandawa - The region lies the triangular area between Delhi, Jaipur and Bikaner and includes Jhunjhunu, Sikar and Churu districts of Rajasthan. Day 04 Mandawa Sightseeing / Bikaner (190 kms) Today morning visit the Mandawa (Shekhwati). The semi-desert region of Shekhwati is popularly known as the 'open-air art gallery' of Rajasthan. The region lies the triangular area between Delhi, Jaipur and Bikaner and includes Jhunjhuniun, Sikar and Churu districts of Rajasthan, Shekhawati, is unique as no-where else in the world there is such a hundreds of haveli's, temples, cenotaphs, wells and forts. Later visit to Havelies in Mandawa notably the Chokhani Saraf & Ladia Havelies, also visit Temples. The terrace of the rugged Fort provides a panoramic view of the town. See the extraordinary frescoes on the walls of the houses and medieval painting of Shekhawati. Afternoon drive to Bikaner - it lies on the northern point on the triangle of desert cities. It is royal walled city dating back to 1486 AD. It was established by a Rathore Prince, Bika & came to be called to be Bikaner after him. It was, however, a major trade center as it stood on the ancient caravan route which link central Asia & north India with the Gujurat Sea Ports. Day 05 Bikaner Sightseeing / Jaisalmer (333 Kms) Morning embark on a tour of Bikaner City; visit the Junagarh Fort, built in 1611 AD. The palaces worth visiting are Anup Mahal, Karan Mahal, and Bijai Phool Mahal.Later proceed to Jaisalmer - Jaisalmer, the ancient citadel on the Caravan route linking India With Persia, Arabia and The Mediterranean. This architectural in the 12th Century by Jaisal, a Bhatti Prince. Located in the heart of the Thar Desert. Few cities in the world can match the Magnificence. Jaisalmer is renowned for its intricately carved & chiseled Haveli's (Mansions), which illustrate superb craftsmanship.
Day 06 Jaisalmer Sightseeing / Desert Camel SafariMorning embark half day tour of Jaisalmer fort. Afterwards visit to the Gadisar Tank & large houses of the merchant called havelies, some of them dating to the Premediaval Patwon Ki Haveli, Salim Shah Haveli and Nathamal Ki Haveli with their intricately carved screens on the facades and the typical traditional architecture. Desert Camel Safari: Afternoon Desert Camel Safari start for Sam Sand Dunes on edge of Desert National Park. Located in the midst of Thar Desert this camp recreates the magical atmosphere of a traditional Mediaeval Desert Camp on a trade route. The Camp provides for all the comforts. The accommodation consists of Swiss Cottage Type tents with attached baths having running hot & cold water. After spending few hours on a camel safari in the Thar Desert, Guests can relax & spend the evening around the campfire, enjoying live music and dance performances by "Langha" Tribe of Professional singers. Day 07 Depart Jodhpur & Sightseeing (285 Kms) Breakfast at Camp and depart to Jodhpur - the Great Indian Desert, sites on sand stone hill surrounded by a strong wall, approximately 6 miles long with 7 entry gates. Sightseeing of the city includes visit to Meherangarh Fort, drive through the old city and past the Clock Tower near the largest spice bazaar in the sub-continent, visit the Jaswant Thada Cenotaph, the royal cremation site and then proceed to see the most magnificent, modern 20th century Palace, the Umaid Bhavan Palace and its museum - a treasure trove. Day 08 Village Safari / Ranakpur / Udaipur (260 Kms) Morning a memorable outing in Jeeps visit various traditional villages seeing local handicrafts viz. shoe makers, pottery, hand weaving and also men in their traditional attire, women clad with ancestral silver jewellery, enroute watch and photograph wildlife Black Buck, Chinkaras, Peacock etc. freely moving in abundance protected by "Bishnois" Protectors of Wildlife and tree Afternoon leave for Udaipur. Enroute visit to Ranakpur temples of the Jains, built in the 15th century in the lovely valley of Aravallis. It has grand structure & beautiful Sculptures. The 1444 pillars in the temple are different from each other. Day 09 Udaipur Sightseeing Today sight seeing of Udaipur includes The City Palace - this is the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, construction of which was started by Udai Singh. This white marble architectural marvel, standing majestically on a hill is surrounded by crenellated walls. This huge edifice 30.4 meters high and 244 meters long was added on to, by later rulers, but the additions are so well planned and integrated, it is difficult to believe that it was not conceived as complete structure, drive around Fateh Sagar lake - this fine lake, lying to the north of and connected by a small canal with Lake Pichola, was originally built by Maharana Jai Singh, in 1678 AD, Sahelion-ki-Bari or " Garden of the Maids of Honour" was laid out for a group of forty-eight young women attendants who accompanied a princess to Udaipur as part of dowry, Partap Smarak: A memorial to the legendary warrior Rana Pratap, Bhartiya Lok Mandal Museum - a museum of folk arts, it displays a rich collection of folk musical instruments and paintings. Remainder of the day is at leisure. Day 10 Udaipur / Jaipur Sightseeing (275 kms) Morning fly to Jaipur - the "Pink City". Afternoon visit to Maharaja's City Palace - where you can see an imposing blend of traditional Rajasthani and Mughal Art. The museum is resplendent with its collection of robes of royal princes, carpets, an armory of old weapons, miniature paintings portraying court scenes, battle scenes and processions, Jantar Mantar (an accurate observatory built in 1726 A.D.), Birla White Marble temple and Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) - a five storied wonder with a spectacular pyramidal facade and overhanging windows with latticed screens, domes and spires. Day 11 Amber Fort Excursion / Ranthambore National Park (175 kms) After breakfast visit the 17th century fortress of Amber Fort - marvelous example of Rajput architecture with its terraces and ramparts reflected in the Maota Lake below. Go up the fort ascended on Caparisoned Elephant true to the style of the Maharajas of the past. The interiors of the fort have various royal halls decorated with intricate ivory, mirror and glasswork complemented by exquisite wall paintings. As you move between the rooms of this magnificent structure feel the history and visualize the pomp and grandeur of a kingdom never conquered, whose hilltop location is to view various palaces with rooms of stunning beauty including the world's finest chamber of mirrors and also visit temple of Kali. Later drive to Ranthambore National Park famous for Tiger Reserve. Day 12 Morning & Evening Game Viewing Early morning 3 hours Canter drive deep into the Jungle to see the Tiger and Leopard, the main predators found in this reserve. Hyena & Jackal are the Scavengers. Sloth Bear and Wild Bear are the main carnivores. The main herbivores found in this Park are Spotted Deer, Sambhar Deer, Nilgai (Bluebell) antelope, Chinkara (Indian gazelle) and the common langur. After Breakfast visit to 13thCentaury historical Ranthambore fort surrounded by the Vindhyas and Aravalis, amidst vast arid denuded tracts of Rajasthan, lies the Oasis of Biomass in an Ecological desert, the great Ranthambore, the most eminent ruler of the Fort was Rao Hamir who ruled around 1296 A.D. There are various places of Historical Places inside the fort namely Toran Dwar, Mahadeo Chhatri, Sameton KiHaveli, 32-Pillard Chhatri, Mosque & the Ganesh Temple, the biggest attraction of the Forts. Afternoon another Game Viewing in the Park. Day 13 Ranthambore / Agra (294 kms) On today's drive through the Rajasthani countryside we see villages, woman dressed in the brilliantly colored saris of the region, Camels, Elephants, Bears & scenes of rural lives. Arrive Agra - at the time of the Mughals, in the 16th & 17th centuries, Agra was the capital of the grand Mughal Empire. During this period the city became a leading centre of art, science, commerce and culture. Akbar the Great made Agra great. The city's origins are dim but Akbar's grandfather Babur is credited with Agra's founding. The short golden age of Agra came to an end with the seventeenth century reign of Shah Jehan, mastermind of the unforgettable Taj Mahal. Enjoy the Magnificent Taj Mahal - The Monument of Love in the warm glow of Sunset, which was built in 1630 by Mghal Emperor Shah Jahan as a tomb for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1631, and is believed to have taken 18 years to complete, with over 20,000 craftsmen working around the clock. The design and construction is said to be that of the legendary architect, Ustad Ahamad Lahori. Legend has it that once construction was completed, Shah Jehan had Lahori's hands cut off, and blinded, so he would never be able to duplicate the structure. Overnight stay at the Hotel. Day 14 Agra Sightseeing / Fatehpur Sikri / Delhi / Onward (204 kms) Today embark and visit the 16th Century Agra Fort. Drive to Delhi en route visit the Ghostly deserted red sandstone city of Fatehpur Sikri, built in 1569 by the Great Emperor Akbar. Today, it is deserted and left in solitude to reminisce over its past glory. Arrive Delhi & transfer to airport to board the flight for Onward destination. Note
