Morning free for independent activities. Afternoon - sightseeing tour of Mumbai. DAY 02 Mumbai-Aurangabad (392 kms) Breakfast at hotel. Morning - visit to Prince of Wales Museum. Later transfer to the airport to board flight for Aurangabad. Upon arrival and transfer from airport to hotel. DAY 03 In Aurangabad After breakfast full day excursion tour to Ajanta Caves. Ajanta caves are 106 kms from aurangabad and dated back to the 2nd century BC are the fine achievements by Buddhist monks. Beautiful frescoes wall paintings and vivid an art and architecture. The horseshoeshaped gorge has 30 caves built in two phase, spread over a period of 900 years. DAY 04 Aurangabad-Mumbai (392 kms) Breakfast at hotel. Morning - visit the extraordinary cave temples of Ellora. After sightseeing transfer to airport for flight to Mumbai. Reception upon arrival and transfer from airport to the hotel. DAY 05 Mumbai-Udaipur Early morning transfer from hotel to airport in time to board flight to Udaipur. Reception upon arrival and transfer from airport to hotel. After breakfast, sightseeing tour of Udaipur, stopping first at City Palace. Also visit the lovely Sahelion-ki-Bari Gardens; the Jagdish Temple; and the Local Folk Museum. Lunch at hotel. After lunch, motor launch cruise on the placid waters of Lake Pichola. Visit to Jag Mandir Palace - the other lovely island palace in the middle of the lake, Borra Mahal, Khas Mahal and the courts, gardens and fountains. DAY 06 In Udaipur Breakfast at hotel. Full day excursion to Ranakpur. Ranakpur is famous for temples of the Jains, built in the 15th century in the lovely valley of Aravallis. It has grand structure & beautiful Sculptures. The 1444 pillars in the temple are different from each other. The magic of light & shade is really awe- inspiring. Visit to famous Jain Temple, dating back to the 15th century. Lunch at Hotel Maharani Bagh, Ranakpur. DAY 07 Udaipur-Jaipur (275 kms) Breakfast at hotel. Morning transfer from hotel to airport in time to board flight to Jaipur. Reception at airport upon arrival and transfer to hotel. Afternoon tour of Jaipur city. DAY 08 In Jaipur After breakfast visit the 17th century fotress of Amber Fort - marvelous example of Rajput architecture with its terraces and ramparts reflected in the Maota Lake below. Go up the fort ascended on Caparisoned Elephant true to the style of the Maharajas of the past. The interiors of the fort have various royal halls decorated with intricate ivory, mirror and glasswork complemented by exquisite wall paintings. As you move between the rooms of this magnificent structure feel the history and visualize the pomp and grandeur of a kingdom never conquered, whose hilltop location is to view various palaces with rooms of stunning beauty including the world's finest chamber of mirrors and also visit temple of Kali. Afternoon visit to Maharaja's City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal Overnight stay at the Hotel. DAY 09 In Jaipur After breakfast day return excursion to Samode Palace. Samode - built in stages starting 400 years ago, the Palace was converted in to a Heritage Hotel by the Samode Family. The Ornate interiors are a fine example of the Rajput-Mughal Haveli Architecture. Samode, ancient royal retreat, notable for its Wall Paintings and Glass work in the Grand Durbar Hall. Late afternoon return to Jaipur and explore the colorful bazaar. Overnight stay.
DAY 10 Jaipur-Agra (232 kms) Early morning drive to Jaipur via visit the ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri, built in 1569 by the Great Emperor Akbar. Today, it is deserted and left in solitude to reminisce over its past glory. On today's drive to Jaipur through the Rajasthani countryside we see villages, woman dressed in the brilliantly colored saris of the region, Camels, Elephants & scenes of rural lives. Rest of day at leisure. DAY 11 Agra -Khajuraho After breakfast visit to Agra Fort - built by the great Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D., the fort is a masterpiece of design and construction. Within the fort are a number of exquisite buildings, including the Moti Masjid, Diwane-I-Am, Diwane-I-Khas and Musamman Burj, where the Emperor Shah Jahan died in imprisonment, besides Jahangir' s Palace, Khaas Mahal and the Sheesh Mahal. Also visit the tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah built by Empress Noor Jehan in the memory of Her Father. Enjoy the Magnificent Taj Mahal - The Monument of Love in the warm glow of Sunset, which was built in 1630 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a tomb for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1631, and is believed to have taken 18 years to complete, with over 20,000 craftsmen working around the clock. The design and construction is said to be that of the legendary architect, Ustad Ahamad Lahori. Legend has it that once construction was completed, Shah Jehan had Lahore's hands cut off, and blinded, so he would never be able to duplicate the structure. Later transfer from hotel to the airport in time to board the flight to Khajuraho. Reception upon arrival and transfer from airport to hotel. DAY 12 Khajuraho-Varanasi Breakfast at hotel. Morning - sightseeing tour of the famous Chandela Dynasty Temples. These temples are really amazing - rising in many peaks and spirals, intricately carved and designed with statues and friezes. These temples are also known for their renowned erotic carvings. Afternoon - transfer from hotel to airport in time to board flight to Varanasi. Reception upon arrival and transfer from airport to the hotel. DAY 13 In Varanasi Later return excursion to Sarnath - 10 kms from the holy city of Varanasi, is the blessed locale where more than 2,500 years ago Buddha chose to deliver his first sermon, after attaining Nirvana. Hence rightly, every Buddhist Pilgrim after Bodhgaya, endeavors to be blessed with a visit to Sarnath in his lifetime. Evening See "aarti" Ceremony on the River Ganges. Overnight stay at the Hotel DAY 14 Varanasi-Delhi Enjoy the sunrise Boat excursion on the Holy River Ganges to see the bathing Ghats and crimination sites. Watching people bathing and worshiping at the Ghats is one of the most extraordinary experiences of a visit to India. Stroll along the narrow lanes and bazaars full of shops selling, among other things, the world famous Banaras silk. Later transfer to airport in time to board flight to Delhi. Reception upon arrival and transfer from airport to hotel. Rest of day at leisure. DAY 15 In Delhi Morning visit Craft Museum to view the Textile Gallery and also the Handicrafts Musuem at Pragati Maidan. Afternoon visit to National Museum. DAY 16 Delhi - Onwards Destination Breakfast at hotel. Morning - sightseeing tour of New Delhi. Afternoon - sightseeing tour of Old Delhi. Evening transfer to international airport. Departure Delhi.
